This Strategic Sourcing Specialist role will be in support of the standard hardware and bearings commodities for all sensing and integrated systems (SIS) locations, as well as overall SIS intelligence for the power, controls & sensing systems (PC&SS) commodity team.
The Strategic Sourcing Specialist demonstrates an advanced understanding of the UTC aerospace business and plays a key role in interfacing with the Supply Chain Procurement Execution groups as well as UTC internal and external customers. Possesses the appropriate skills to develop and foster positive working relationships while maintaining customer and organizational priorities.
The individual works in the best interest of the company and limits exposure to risk and liability through strategic planning and manages supplier relationships from proposal and selection through negotiation. Also manages supplier restructuring and transitions. Must understand the market conditions and meet the financial responsibilities of their commodity. Negotiates long-term agreements (LTAs) in conjunction with overall organizational strategy and procedures. A self starter capable of taking ownership of strategic projects with little oversight, and working with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to drive tasks to closure on schedule.
Understands and evaluates the impacts of both strategic and tactical decisions on the long term strategy of the supply base, including participating as a key contributor to the Executive Sourcing Board (ESB) and owning the Strategic Sourcing Review Board (SSRB) process. Also responsible for setting make/buy, sales forecasting, vendor managed inventory, logistics, and overall supplier development strategies, including performance improvement plans.
The individual will be an active participant in their skill development, strive to be an expert in their commodity, and drive a continuous improvement environment.
Bachelor's degree required, business or engineering preferred.
5+ years supply chain experience. Exposure to SAP ERP systems is a plus. Applicants should have strong interpersonal, negotiation, MS Excel, and communication skills. Project management experience is a plus. ACE Associate also a plus.
