Robotics Automation Technologist is responsible to support the manufacturing cell teams to implement robotic systems throughout plant operations.
Work with team members and offer credible visionary automation solutions to their ideas.
Provide automation and engineering criteria for the selection of capital equipment projects with machine tool/ automation integrators.
Program the logic (PLC) that controls robotic functions and movements; provide oversight to robotic selection process, implement proper HMI for each individual process.
Produce CAD drawings to support process improvements and proto-type hardware.
Perform all electrical and mechanical troubleshooting for new robotic system integration.
Provide hands on programming of logic controls and support development of HMI interface for standardization of robotic applications.
Troubleshoot new systems through start-up along with diagnosing and resolve all functions of robotic application including paint, pick and place, and vision systems.
Installing, programming and/or repairing programmable controllers, robot controllers, end of arm tools, and/or conveyors associated with robotic systems.

Essential Responsibilities:
Investigate, design, and develop automation applications throughout operations, Including: work holding, process tools, logistics, safety applications, variation reduction, and operating cost reduction. Incorporate LWW and lean methodology.
Provide statistical data analysis for robotic implementation and be responsible for some project management activities
Troubleshoot electrical, pnuematic, hydraulic, robotic programming, motor control, sensors, USB cameras and electromechanical devices through system set-up
Provide CAD modeling for fixture design, work holdings, motion control, and tooling required for robotic applications
Must be able to create and read logic and flow diagrams for program design, programming, simulation, testing and xperience with logic that is auto-generated from templates is a preferred.
Assist in the training of personnel in robotic systems along with setting up inventories of spare parts such as controllers, sensors, and cables.


Four Year EngineeringTechnology Degree or Automation Technology Degree Minimum Required Qualifications:
Four Year EngineeringTechnology Degree or Automation Technology Degree with 3 years of electrical, mechanical and robotic applications with HMI (Human Machine Interface) and PLC (programmable logic controller) integration. CAD modeling software experience.
CAD modeling for fixture design, work holdings, motion control, and tooling required for robotic applications
Experience in financial justification, B.O.M. and project management of robotic system integration
People person with experience training and working in a union shop facilitating 2 way communication.
Document robotics test procedures and results.
asking decisions and solving problems - analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solutions.
Experience in Allen Bradley PLC systems and programming.
Must be able to verify U.S. Person Status as defined by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
Preferred Qualifications:
Four Year Engineering Technology Degree or Automation Technology Degree with a minimum of 3 years related experience in Allen Bradley PLC systems and programming, robotic applications with proven hands-on experience in all facets of robotic integration including process analysis, costing, programming, design, and integration. Use of Cad Modeling for fixture designs, work holding, and tooling.
