This role will have the authority and responsibility to develop and execute an internal software assurance program and assist in the enterprise internal audit program. The internal audit programs continually assesses and confirms compliance to Regulatory standards, customer flow down requirements company quality system requirements, intercompany procedures and work instructions. This includes the management of quality system documents, corrective/preventive action, and a variety of quality assurance support systems / processes, perform and publish quality analytics on the effectiveness of the quality system. This position is a direct report the Quality Systems and Compliance Manager.

Specific Job Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain an internal audit program for software quality assurance. Plan must ensure compliance with DO178C and other regulatory, customer, internal requirements. Create detailed quality audit plans, schedules, and checklists as needed.
2. Validate software requirements for new and existing programs, including software documents, test readiness reviews, test witnessing, software conformity reviews
3. Support the enterprise internal system that continually monitors procedural compliance.
4. Manage the corrective and preventive action processes for software quality assurance and respective internal audits.
5. Act as liaison for Software Quality Assurance with FAA and facilitate audits accomplished on Site at SGH-PA by third parties.
6. Responsible for and owner of the SGH-PA Quality Management System level one quality document and ensure compliance to AS9100 Rev. C.
7. Stewardship of software quality system documents; balloting process; interface with Management System requirements from HQ.
8. Stewardship of the software quality assurance integration from one to company to another.
9. Develop standard work that clearly communicates the compliance health of software quality.
10. Develop and or coordinate the training of DO178C criteria across the site.


Bachelors degree w/6(`310+ years experience
Masters degree w/4(`37+ years experience
Software knowledgeable
DER qualification preferred
Knowledge of FAA Regulations DO178 B/C
Demonstrated Communication and Leadership Skills
Working knowledge of standard quality tools
Minimum 2 Years experience Auditing Compliance QMS Systems facility or organization-wide as Lead Auditor.
ASQ Auditor Certification a definite plus- ASQ-CQA (Certified Quality Auditor); AS9100 lead auditor certification a plus
Ability to Lead Audit Teams
Strong organizational Skills, multi-tasking.
Excellent communication skills.
Knowledge / experience with any / all: CFR 21, CFR 145, PMA, ODA a plus
Computer skills- Proficient in Word, Power Point, Excel (`3 intermediate to advanced skills.
Proficiency in MS Access, Project a plus

This position is for the Pratt & Whitney AeroPower Business Unit located in San Diego, California. The business unit was formally part of Hamilton Sundstrand. The transition to Pratt & Whitney is currently underway.
