Quality Engineer III

UTC Aerospace Systems is one of the world's largest suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and defense products. We design, manufacture and service systems and components and provide integrated solutions for commercial, regional, business and military aircraft, helicopters and other platforms. We are also a major supplier to international space programs.

In 2012, UTC Aerospace Systems was formed by combining two industry leaders, Hamilton Sundstrand and Goodrich, creating an organization with key positions on a wide range of aircraft flying today and substantial content on various UAVs, satellites and ground and naval vehicles.

Responsibilities

The Quality Engineer III will act as the Quality interface and provide expertise between the organization and its customers to proactively assure that their quality needs and expectations are understood and satisfied. Provide support to the Supply Chain Management organization relative to the collection and analysis of supplier quality data. Provide expertise in Quality Assurance and process improvement tools and methods. Execute the initiatives of the organization in the development, implementation and improvement of the appropriate Quality Management systems throughout the operation. Develop, implement and auditing of inspection and test plans, standards and acceptance criteria, and procedures / work instructions. Facilitate the investigation and elimination of causes of quality problems and follow-up on corrective actions. Develop and analyze statistical data and product / process performance to recommend and implement improvements in targeted areas of the organization. Provide support in the way of development and evaluation of process capability, process control plans, analysis of out-of-control conditions, and process audits with the objective of improving the process performance and capability. Participate in all aspects of product development and launch activities through the organization to help ensure quality goals are met.

Qualifications

¿Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Bachelors of Engineering Technology degree with 1+ years of relevant experience. Required Skills: ¿Experience with QA systems such as AS9100,ISO, Conducting Audits, Being able to manage Rejection Tags and Corrective Action is a requirement Proven track record of understanding and managing First Article Inspections (FAI) is also a requirement. ¿Self motivated with a passion for QA and proven problem solving ability. ¿CAD software experience: Inventor, SolidWorks, Pro-E or CATIA is preferred but not required. ¿Six sigma experience or LEAN, knowledge of Lean Product Development (LPD) and Continuous Improvement (CI) is preferred but not required; including experience working within an environment that embraces the daily use of these tools. Enhance and support teamwork. ¿Strong PC skills with proficiency in the following MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Project or project Management Software. Preferred Skills: - Lean Manufacturing (Toyota Production System) experience. - SAP and Team Center knowledge a plus. - CATIA V5 experience.
