The Manager of the Military Programs¿ primary responsibility is to lead a team of Program Managers that manage complex build-to-print, proprietary and/or developmental. The Director will have direct staff including multiple Program Managers that have technical, operations, quality, aftermarket and supply chain functional leaders in a matrix reporting environment. At this time, key customers for this role include Boeing Long Beach (C-17), Boeing St Louis (F-15, F/A-18), Northrup Grumman, General Atomics and Sikorsky.
The Manager will be responsible to:
-manage and lead by using the ¿4-gears¿ principles
-lead the cross functional team to achieve financial, schedule and quality targets in accordance with contract and business objectives
-lead the Program Management team for the development of annual program business objectives and subsequent execution of these objectives
-lead the Program Management team for the successful development of several new landing gear programs using the UTAS New Product development System in line with the approved business case
-develop talent within the Program Management function
-responsible for ensuring resolution of key programs commercial, industrial and technical issues with customer
-support proposal activity in pursuit of new business opportunities
-interface with other functional management groups to ensure coordinated, common and consistent approach to developing and achieving business objectives
-develop annual finance plans, and departmental budgets, and ensure execution to plan
-provides leadership and consultation to program management and staff in matters related to program development and execution, understanding of overall departmental/business goals and objectives, and individual roles and responsibilities in this regard
-ensure compliance with all UTAS policies, process and procedures
- negotiate annual and long term contracts/pricing with customers and ensure business compliance to all contractual requirements
-grow customer relationships
Bachelor¿s Degree in Business or Engineering related field/studies
¿ 10 years Program Management, or equivalent, experience
¿ Leading in a highly matrixed environment
¿ People development and management
¿ Excellent written and verbal communication
¿ Managing relationships with all levels of the UTAS / Customer organization
¿ Financial and business acumen
¿ Balance of daily tenacity to reach stretch goals and long term creativity for break through business solutions
¿ Proprietary and/or developmental landing gears programs experience
¿ Aerospace contract negotiation experience in excess of $50M, including TINA compliant proposals
¿ Financial forecasting experience
¿ Managing direct reports and budgets
Must be able to meet ITAR requirements.
