To provide support on moderately complex or difficult EHS issues/concerns in two or more disciplines of EHS (environment, occupational health, and/or safety) to managers and staff; including compliance with EHS legislation and the implementation of the EHS Management System. This position requires extensive knowledge in two or more aspects of EHS in order to support complex issues/concerns.
Utilize extensive knowledge of at least two EHS disciplines to provide advice, support, and technical guidance to management including complex issues/concerns in relationship to the site's business, compliance with EHS legislation, and the maintenance of the site's EHS Management System.
Coordinate and conduct specialized Environmental, Health and/or Safety audits and inspections of premises and operations in conjunction with others to monitor performance and assist the relevant line management to produce action plans to implement the necessary improvements.
Promote the active management of two or more aspects of Environment, Health and/or Safety through the identification of hazards, evaluation of solutions and residual risk, and prioritized management action. Facilitate and manage EHS committee and other ad hoc groups within the site
Provide subject specific EHS related training as required by legislation, and identified for the promotion of high standards of EHS management on the site such as electrical, confined spaces, etc.
Assist site with the development of strategic EHS initiatives and coordinate/drive the necessary tactical resources/elements to ensure a successful implementation.
Maintain relevant records, produce reports and review statistics.
Bachelors Degree in a related field
6+ years experience in related position or field with progressive responsibilities.
Extensive understanding of risk management tools
Ability to manage multiple complex projects
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint)
Capable of working with a wide range of people from site leader to shop floor
Influencing and negotiating skills
Must be able to verify U.S. Person Status as defined by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
